Pakistan was using Euro 2 petrol, but the government has decided to move onto Euro 5 petrol. Euro 5 is better quality fuel with reduced air pollution. This was decided by the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCOE) on 5th June 2020.

Euro 5 adjusts according to the weather conditions and improves the performance of the engines of cars, buses, public transport, rental cars, especially in the urban area roads.

In 1992, the 1st Euro Law was passed. The limit for the diesel engine in Euro 1 was 780mg/km of NO. With Euro 6 law, it’s much smaller, 80mg/km.
